Linguage Chapter

Arlington, Virginia

We are a small team of ambitious and curious high-school students with a wide range of skills and experience.

We love what we do, and we do it with passion.

Mickey Robertson

Chapter Leader

Mickey is a sophomore at Washington-Liberty High School in Arlington, VA. He has been fascinated by the study of linguistics for a long time: he actively learns Latin in school and Russian on his own. He aspires to study linguistics in college.

With an understanding of languages, Mickey hopes to make linguistic materials more easily accessible to a wider audience of people with the same interests as his, in one comprehensive location; alongside the AP Linguistics initiative, he wishes to help make linguistics a more well-known field and allow students to explore its many relations to the other sciences, such in software engineering, in the brain, in sociology, and in anthropology.

Outside of languages, his other hobbies include arranging and playing music, tennis, chess, doing math, programming, and watching an embarrassing amount on YouTube. He plays tenor saxophone in the marching and jazz bands at his school.
